Wow!

The last two days have been just absolutely amazing. We have spent both days building houses for the locals. This was one of our primary jobs and goals for the week. Esther and I got an unexpected opportunity early Monday morning before joining the team at the build site.. We had an opportunity to go to the wheelchair factory and take part in a distribution that was happening that day. Esther and I not only got to witness the families being taught and shared the gospel, but we also had the opportunity to help in the fitting.

Beeline ministries does an amazing job developing a wheelchair that is very flexible and accommodating for every young person. We had the opportunity to join the technicians and help fit too young children for their wheelchair. This is a very touching and emotional time. To see the families Witness, what was happening and the freedom that this provided for the children was amazing!

After this, Esther and I joined the team who had started building the first house. We spent the rest of the day framing the walls and roof, attaching the metal and getting the roof on the house and kitchen. We finished by installing the stove for the family today. We spent the rest of today finishing as much as we could on the first house and moving over to the second house to begin work there. We got nearly all four walls done at the new house. We’re currently waiting for an additional lumber shipment to arrive hopefully tomorrow morning.

These two days were just absolutely amazing. We are exhausted, but also marveling at what God is doing through this ragtag group of people serving him. Most of the team members didn’t know one another very well, and several had never met personally and we are becoming quite a tight bunch. There is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and to witness to the families here in Guatemala.

Thank you so much for your support financially and for your prayers. We will never be able to thank you adequately for experiences that you have enabled us to be able to take. It is a wonderful time for me as I get to spend this time with Esther seeing many things that neither of us have ever seen before. This is definitely a time where God is working in both of our hearts and preparing us for future ministry. Continue to pray as we finish our week strong. We want to finish both houses, meet with and see the children’s program in the schools in action, and maybe even get to see more people get wheelchairs. Thank you again for all your support and your love. We can’t wait to tell you more in person.

Blessings.
